Rainer Winter is Professor of Media and Cultural Theory at the Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt, Austria and editor of the Cultural Studies series; He is the author of “Der produktive Zuschauer. Medienaneignung als kultureller und ästhetischer Prozess”, 1995 and editor of the books “Kritische Theorie heute” (ed. with Peter Zima), 2007; “Mediennutzung, Identität und Identifikationen” (ed. with Lothar Mikos and Dagmar Hoffmann), 2007; “Widerspenstige Kulturen: Cultural Studies als Herausforderung” (ed. with Karl H. Hörning), 1999.
